The idea of jury instructions has always been hilarious to me. I don’t need a judge telling me what I can and can’t consider.

So the judge needs to define the words in the law?
The Consitiution was written for Me to be able to read and follow.
A lot of laws written that way too.
I’m not so sure about new laws, written by lawyers for only lawyers to ‘interpret’.
But I should be able to read the law, and judge from that.
PS side story.
One jury had a farmer on it. During deliberations he pointed out that he was familiar with the crime location and certain insect activity that he knew about did not support the prosecution. (Vague, I know, I forgot the details)
Not guilty verdict was rejected when it came out that he ‘added extra information’. New trial followed I think.
