Yep. My daughter’s friend - graduated salutatorian from a competitive high school, speaks fluent Spanish, graduated from Princeton with a pre-med degree and with scores of 95% on the MCAT - was rejected by every med school she applied for.

She decided to give it another go the following year and was accepted by ONE medical school. She was going to give up after year two.

We recently attended a special ceremony for outstanding med students at her university, chosen by professors and fellow students, apparently it’s very prestigious.

She is about to finish her final year before residency.

Hadda a friend who graduated from a big UC back in the day.

#1 in his class and all that.

Couldn’t get into a California med school - it was the beginning of the affirmative action era.

He was furious. He was an out of state student, but high enough on the pecking order that he should have gotten in. Instead, some over melanated moron from South Central LA did.

He got his revenge. Ended up as a Resident at Stanford. Now is a semi-retired consultant doc. But it is far, far worse for White males now: almost impossible. Unless of course you want to be governor of California. Then you just have to have the right family connections...like Auntie Nancy.
