The effects the virus had on the lungs was similar to an incredibly dirty filter in an air conditioner. While the ventilators may have forced the lungs to operate at a higher rate, they often caused other complications such as infections.
Ugh, no. Most likely that was caused by the horrifically high oxygen smashed into their lungs before the vents and Remdesivir.
