To be sure some form of life may be in our Galaxy, yet at incredible speeds say 90% that of the speed of light it still may take 100,000 years to get there, no round trip!

If we stumbled out of our cave and walked and even jogged and swam occasionally it would take forever to get from New York to Hawaii.

Don’t assume we know everything there is to know about physics. FTL travel is mathematically possible. And that’s just with the science that we have figured out.
There is probably still a lot more that we don’t know.
