Personally I want nothing to do with law enforcement. I avoid all contact. I knew someone who was a dispatcher and she said if there is a cop behind you they are running your plates. I drive carefully and don’t break traffic laws and my plate is a word that is easily run. I don’t have any outstanding warrants. I haven’t committed any crimes that I know of. I still don’t want a cop behind me. The last time I got pulled over the cop was getting angry at me for saying I didn’t do anything wrong. I just took the ticket and paid the fine. It was a stale yellow light but I was all the way over the line before the light turned red. No film no witnesses except him and me and the judge gave him the benefit of his position. It cost me over 500 bucks and that was at least 15 years ago. Even the people who say that you don’t have anything to worry about if you haven’t done anything wrong don’t want to be pulled over.
I expect only one thing from the police. It’s what I’d expect from a plumber or a dentist or a bus driver. It’s professional behavior.
Unfortunately more and more police are acting unprofessionally. They bully, and they escalate. I get that their job is difficult!
But good people should not have to fear the police. But that’s what’s happening more and more these days. Good people are fearing the police. And they are being mistreated by the police. This is obviously not the right direction to be going in.
