Verses 42-44 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

I’m sorry but this is a commandment to live righteously, because our individual or collective judgment can arrive when we least expect it. That is the full context. We can have some concerns about His return, but it must not be something that occupies us, any more than the lily caring for what it wears on the morrow.

Keep watch. You can’t keep watch if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

Your point was to dismiss all signs of the end times because nobody knows the DAY or HOUR, the very specific time of His appearing.

But we can know that it is close because of the other warning signs that JESUS HIMSELF told us to look for to know that His return was nearing.

If you don’t like that we are doing that, then take it up with Him for telling us what to look for.

And you’re changing the subject too, and accusing others of something not being discussed. Nobody here is advocating not living righteously. Matter of fact, the more we know HIs return is close but don’t know the specific moment the more incentive it is to live righteously.
