I was once talking to a guy in “new product development” and he said that new tech will be used in porn before the mainstream. It ended up being kind of true. It led the VHS and DVD revolution; streaming, and full immerision VR.
He also included the military in his list. So, I guess war porn and real porn at along the same lines. LOL
