Both Trump and DeSantis spoke on friendly terms, according to the Post’s sources, and DeSantis agreed to help the 45th President. Trump’s team is hopeful such assistance will include the Florida governor helping raise money for the campaign, which is lagging behind Biden in fundraising.
The meeting will also produce renewed speculation that Trump is looking at tapping DeSantis as his running mate. Trump previously suggested that the Florida governor was on the list of people he was considering.
This seems like a long shot considering a good number of Trump’s staff still despise Ron DeSantis. After initial calm, DeSantis stirred up a hornet’s nest again in February when he slammed Trump’s campaign team in a private call with his supporters.
“I think he’s got people in his inner circle who were part of our orbit years ago that we fired, and I think some of that is they just have an ax to grind,” DeSantis said.
Chris LaCivita, a top aide to Trump, responded by calling DeSantis a “sad little man.”

desantis supporters and voters are mostly nevertrumpers that didn’t throw in with haley.
they’ll claim they will vote for Trump, but constantly bad mouth Trump and complain about everything Trump does, to kill support for Trump...
just like what the current desantis supporters are doing...
We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Trump is funny. DeSantis is the straight man.
Think campus turmoil where the inmates run the asylum. Governors are in charge and Newsom allows Humbolt State to close down. Wouldn’t happen under the Florida governor and his attitudes are universal.
We unfortunately tend to forget that President and Vice-president are two separate offices. Superficial usage, poor understanding of the Constitution due to K12 education and media propaganda makes it seem like voting for Prez is also voting for Vprez.
The electors when confronted with a situation of Prez and Vprez from the same state and the electors represents that state. They can vote for one but not the other. For example in a Trump\DeSantis ticket, Florida electors could vote for Trump for Prez but not for DeSantis for Vprez or DeSantis for Vprez but can’t vote for Trump as Prez. You could end up in a situation where the Prez candidate gets his 270 and the Vprez fails to or vice versa.
If be chooses DeSantis let’s hope they have a contingency plan for that possibility.
“I still think he ends up picking Tim Scott”
Yeah. Because choosing someone who endorsed and supported Lisa Murkowski as your #2 man is a really good idea. 🙄
(I guess he decided to drop Noem after the whole dog killing thing)
Why do you say that, Sarah? Trump hasn’t been asked to issue a statement on the subject.
That’s precisely correct. He also wouldn’t make a statement if he’d pardon the January 6ers.
God, I hope not. I can’t stand Tim Scott.
“DeSantis is not a MAGA man.”
Trump needs to cast as wide a net as possible.
Having DeSantis on the ticket would be good so when Trump decides to turn his presidency over to the HHS/CDC/NIH swamp again during the next scamdemic there is someone there strong to prevent it. Based on history we should be more concerned over who Trump makes secretary of HHS than who he picks for VP.
Wny would anyone trust desanctus for anything, when he’s demonstrated you can’t ever tell when desantis is lying or not?
Choosing a VP from the same state as the President is not strictly prohibited, as the article suggests, but doing so has consequences beyond merely the lack of geographic diversity. Choosing a President and VP from the state only effects the outcome in that state. In the hypothetical case of a Trump/DeSantis ticket, with both being residents of Florida, The Constitution would not allow the Florida electors to vote for BOTH Trump and DeSantis. They would have to make a choice. Either vote for Trump for President and vote for another qualified candidate for VP (or abstain from voting for VP; or vote for DeSantis for VP and vote for someone other than Trump for President (or abstain).
In practice, the likelihood of this restriction actually effecting the outcome of the election is small, but in a close election that depended on, in this instance, the Florida vote, the electors of Florida would have to make a choice between voting for Trump or DeSantis. Presumably they would vote for Trump and abstain for casting a vote for VP. In theory that could lead to Trump being elected but not DeSantis.
No he is a CONSERVATIVE man
are there still illegals entering FL? Then desantis is NOT doing everything right. he has authority to secure FL borders yet plenty of illegals flood in and harm not only citizens but property, and wander onto other states, if no longer transported there by your “doing everything right” little boy in heels.
Trump has already told you once to quit calling him that now fall into line
