Catch and kill is about tabloids buying up the exclusive rights to salacious stories on celebs so that they can use them at the right time and to prevent their competitors from running the story.

This is common knowledge in the people who inhabit the celeb culture.

And the women and men in the system know that there is very good money to be made either from selling their story to the media or by being blackmailing and extorting other celebs to stay quite and not damage their reputation and media value.

Billionaires with high profile media careers have staffs of people whose job it is to deal with the grifters and extortionists who wish to make money off them.

It come with the territory. The majority of people who find themselves in proximity with a person of vast wealth is how they can make money off that brush with wealth.

“catch and kill” was an invention of Bragg’s office - on the stand yesterday, Pecker said he’d never heard of the term before Bragg’s office began introducing it.
