I’m surprised that anyone in that community would even own a firearm....OC went strictly Democrat in the last few presidential elections - big difference from being Republican country for years.
They described the location as “isolated”. That location isn’t isolated except if they mean being gated.
This was the area where Kobe Bryant and his family lived at one time - Pelican Hill.
Strange story. There were two home invasion suspects. One was shot by the homeowner and wounded. The other fled and then killed himself by gunshot to the head.
One perp found shot in the street.
The other found dead by suicide.
Things that make you go hmmm.
I think the rumor that Democrats don’t own guns is false. Plenty of my friends and neighbors own guns.

.......same here in Texas...but....do they know HOW to use those guns....we have neighbors who do have guns and have not the faintest idea how they work, what caliber they are, etc.(one of them asked me “what caliber is my gun?” I said “380” and he said, “That’s the caliber?” duh....yeah, that is the caliber of your gun.....amazing...

The one guy that shot himself might have done it because he feared what would happen to him at the hands of those who sent him on an ultimately failed mission.
That makes a lot of sense, especially if drug cartels or gangs are involved.
That's a danger.
That’s the reason so many thugs’ gun malfunctions at critical moments. When you hear a story of a criminal’s gun “jamming” thus saving someone from a mortal wound, it’s usually because they have the wrong ammo loaded. Many don’t know the difference in 9mm or .22 ammo. In addition, they don’t know how to clean a firearm or even that it should be cleaned.

Very unlikely. Todd Spitzer, the OC DA, is one of the good guys. He’d be good in the Trump administration.

That’s a good question that I hadn’t even thought about! I do have a neighbor with a bumper sticker that says “I drive a Prius so I have more money for ammo” but who knows what he does with the ammo. I live in suburbia so no one is doing target practice in their yards like we do at my dad’s house. We just shoot at hay bales and cans, and I can hit those but wouldn’t say I’m a good shot at anything else. And it’s funny, for some reason the map in my car was set at shooting ranges and gun clubs when I bought it. There are a lot more around here than I ever knew !

My husband and I were at the gun range in OC a lot years ago - Orange County Gun Club??; my husband more than I...If I needed to find him, that’s where I’d look! LOL I don’t think it’s there now. It was out in the sticks off Sand Canyon Road in Irvine? Not too sure - it was back in the ‘90’s.
No one we met or knew or associated with out there were democrats or if they were, they weren’t admitting it. That’s probably the safest bet...
