A Georgia special prosecutor will now determine whether GOP Lt. Gov. Burt Jones will face criminal charges in the state's Trump election interference case.
The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia said Thursday that its executive director, Pete Skandalakis will be on the case.
Skandalakis reportedly appointed himself after being tasked with try to find a prosecutor after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was barred from prosecuting Jones.

Willis was barred because in July 2022 she held a fundraiser for a Jones political opponent, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Jones was one of the 16 Republicans who signed a certificate that said former President Donald Trump had won Georgia in the 2020 presidential election and declared themselves the state’s “duly elected and qualified” electors.
The lieutenant governor argued that Willis should not be the one to pursue charges against him due to her openly supporting his Democratic opponent during his race.
in many ways, this sounds very similar to trumps case where NY judge merchan’s daughter has been using her dad’s prosecution of trump to raise millions of dollars.
sounds like merchan should recuse for obvious conflict of interest.
That makes sense.
If she held a fundraiser for the opponent of the guy she later has to prosecute, it’s definitely a conflict of interest.
Now if Jones broke the law or not is another thing altogether.
For reference, in 2020, Rayshard Brooks was passed out from drugs, blocking a Wendy’s drive through. When cops asked him to move the vehicle he became violent, assaulted and tazered 2 cops and then tried to flee the scene with one of the officer’s weapons. One cop managed to shoot him; Brooks died of his wounds. Blacks, of course, rioted and burned down the restaurant in retaliation.

The charges were so obviously unjust that the police in half the cities zones called in sick for 4 days and police outside the districts refused to help out Atlanta except for an officer down scenario.

Looking back at the facts of most of these incidents that have resulted in riots and destruction of property... it has always been a perp that resisted arrest, usually drugged up and usually already a career criminal or with a record of similar behavior. Facts not reported by the media... just like this most recent incident... ie that the perp fired on the cops first.
Unless or until the leftist media is held accountable for NOT reporting the truth and the facts of these “incidents”... this will continue and only get worse. The leftist Pravda media in America is pro-commie and are culpable in instigating the chaos and violence. There needs to be purge. A real one.
