Estimates are that Russia has over 4300 strategic warheads, and something like 2000 more tactical warheads available. Russian nuclear forces have been undergoing modernization, and Russia has working designs for hypersonic glide vehicles among other options.
I guess we’ll see how well their warheads work if they resume testing…I hope not on Ukrainian soil.
Another article on modernization:

To your point, despite a fair amount of searching I couldn’t find an article on current warhead (pit) manufacture in Russia. Do you have a link perchance?

Pardon me if I’m not terribly aggrieved over any report from a known cell of communist agitators.
WOW!

"In the last three years, Russia has been seeking to keep American inspectors away. And the reason behind that is likely not Moscow's eagerness to bolster nuclear power but rather the opposite – hiding the scale of its nuclear arsenal's reduction. The Russian nuclear stockpile has been gradually dwindling for years. And from Dmitry Medvedev himself about Joe Biden, https://t.me/medvedev_telegram/341...
According to experts, the decommissioning of Russian nuclear weapons started and will continue until at least the 2030s. But admitting this decline is impossible for the Kremlin, which puts nuclear weapons at the center of its intimidation efforts and war propaganda, both domestic and international.
Due to the lack of on-site inspections, there's little certainty regarding how much of the nuclear power that Russia claims as deployed is actually operational."
"...Беда, конечно. У этого человека в руках это самое ядерное оружие.""Trouble, of course. This man has the most nuclear weapon in his hands. "
The Russian government bluffs, lies, and threatens about everything. Without inspections, Reagan's "trust but verify", there is no trust to verify. There is circumstantial evidence that Russia's nuclear arsenal is in decline, and they cannot maintain or replace it. Which is good news for everyone, especially every nation on Russia's borders.
