I wouldn’t trade my last loaf of bread for a wheelbarrow full of gold coins.
The 'Time Bomb' is fiat. Not things.
Things have value: Homes, automobiles, boats, airplanes, gold, silver, and....yes, a loaf of bread.
Here is a useful measure, intrinsic value.
The intrinsic value of a loaf of bread is a full stomach for a meal or two.
The intrinsic value of a fiat dollar is Zero (0).
Gold coins aren’t going to buy food that doesn’t exist.
Brass and lead, OTOH, can supply a meal.
Learning skills of growing and preserving food keeps you from being dependent on the government and having to expose yourself to unnecessary danger by going shopping.
A wheelbarrow full of gold coins would be awfully heavy.
