I love using bike trails, and my wife and I use them often to walk or ride our e-bikes on.

That said, I am wholly against building them. It just reeks to me of someone, severely in debt, building a swimming pool in their back yard.

But they keep building them.

I have no problem with building bike trails. If cyclists are using the trails, that keeps them from holding up traffic on the road. However, bike trails are none of the federal government’s business, per Article I, Section 8. I’d be fine if only the state of Florida and Escambia County were the sole funders of ours.
