Now if a majority of people and their legislators want to change it they most likely will rule for their right to do so.

That equates to mob rule. If the mob wants to continue to let the corrupt system stay in place then the victims of that system have no redress. I see that as a huge problem. Game over for the republic.

Of course it is. But on a local state, county, and city level this is how it has always been right? The mob vote count is what determines everything. The population of one city or county can dictate everything in the whole state because of their population numbers. I personally think rural counties should have delegates to give their vote more teeth against the one or two populated cities especially in an election for federal representatives and president.
