Those things have been popping up all over the place over the last few years. The problem is they are building them in towns with very few residents. There is a reason there was no grocery store in that little crossroad town. There’s not enough money/income to make them profitable.

Yep, simple oversaturation of the market. Dollar General is well-known to pop-up everywhere there isn’t a Walmart or sizeable grocery store. I’m sure Dollar Tree isn’t any different. Dollar Tree owns Family Dollar, and I am surprised the Family Dollars didn’t get shut down or rebranded already.

Dollar store opened in the little town where my daughter lives. A local farmer sat down with the local grocery store and went over their yearly operating expenses. Then wrote them a huge check. He said, I want you open !
