The statistics may be solid, but the article is specious at best.

My brother has been a career Airline Captain for decades. He has always kept himself very trim and fit and had never had any medical issues at all. He of course was required to take the Covid Vaccines and Boosters or be fired. After the first set he failed his next First Class Medical Exam and told that he had Myocarditis. He was grounded and told initially that he would probably never fly again.
The airline lost so many pilots from similar heart related issues that after a couple of months they insisted that he go to an FAA Flight Surgeon in another state who was reinstating pilot's medical certificates. He had suffered some minor symptoms but was feeling better and went back to work.
A couple weeks after returning to the cockpit he was told that it was time for his mandated Covid “booster”. Shortly after that he began experiencing chest pain. He was told this time that his heart was enlarged and inflamed and that his aorta was bulging. He was told again that he would likely never be allowed to fly again. But after a couple of months he was feeling better, and the airline sent him to another out of state flight examiner passed him and put him back in the cockpit.
Unfortunately, some other pilots in his airline have not been as lucky and have actually died. Ironically, he and my sister-in-law and all of their kids who have all been vaccinated and “boosted” have all been diagnosed with Covid multiple times since then. My brother is the only one who has been diagnosed with heart problems.
