Former House Intel Chairman Mike Rogers has picked up the endorsement of President Trump; essentially sealing his likelihood to win the Michigan senate primary. Unfortunately, Rogers is very connected to the Deep State intelligence community apparatus. Devin Nunes replaced Rogers after the Michigan representative retired from congress in ’14.
Mike Rogers together with Democrat Rep Dutch Ruppersberger, were infamous for generating the report that defended the CIA and Deep State during the Benghazi aftermath and protecting Hillary Clinton {GO DEEP}. 👀 CTH took apart the report that was created by Rogers and Ruppersberger without the other members of the intelligence committee participating.
Annoyingly, Rogers has a long history of helping to assist and create the national security “surveillance state.” SEE HERE and SEE HERE and SEE HERE. Perhaps he has changed in the decade since he was one of the primary advocates for the Deep State and the creation of the 4th branch of government; however, I doubt it.
I also doubt that President Trump was advised about the nature of Mike Rogers and his ideological outlook toward supporting the National Security state. Rogers has a life-long history of supporting the very institutional actors who targeted President Trump, so it’s a little hard to see him supporting President Trump in the second term.

Indeed.
Not much of a choice there, makes sense to endorse this Rogers guy, rather than Amash-total sell out.
Great post, thanks for helping me to think more clearly about this matter.
Agreed, but curious why he’s wanting to jump back in the fray after 10 years.
Most folks here don’t know or care about this but Rogers is one of two key players who kept effective whistleblower protection out of the National Defense Authorization Bill this past year.
He is one of the critical cogs of the Deep State machine protecting its deepest and darkest secrets.
He will probably cause less damage in the Senate as a junior member.
Perhaps President Trump is playing 3D chess here.
...with the Army you have...
+1
Horrible Horrible Horrible choice. Trump is also said to be considering Tim Scott for VP.
For all that he gets right, Trump makes some absolutely horrible choices in people and needs to be saved from himself in this area. No to Mike Rogers and No to Tim Scott.
However, Rogers disobeyed orders to warn Trump personally that he and Trump Tower were being spied upon. He has some degree of ethics, which is rare in the Deep State.
Adm Mike Rogers is a good man. I have my doubts about the other Mike Rogers. When Trump wins on Nov 5, I sure hope he has a plan to keep out the backstabbers and turncoats.
Graham is very wishy-washy. I don’t trust him at all. Trump needs to build a solid coalition this time around, so he can have reliable people who won’t stab him in the back.
Yes, Rogers is the lesser evil than Amash. It’s sad there isn’t a better option. Amash calls Trump self-serving, but in reality he’s the self-serving individual. Trump had a phone call with Zelensky to discuss corruption. Nothing impeachable about that.
Agreed.
1) My mind is still blown how Fetterman won.
2) Rogers can be kept in line. McConnell stepping down is a good sign. A non-RINO can become leader and wrangle the RINOs.
This is not a good sign. Trump still thinks he can work with these people. Like many of his followers, Trump doesn’t seem to fully comprehend the venom that these people hold for him.
Too many Mike Rogers…..

Those are the only three major candidates I know of.
“This is not a good sign. Trump still thinks he can work with these people. Like many of his followers, Trump doesn’t seem to fully comprehend the venom that these people hold for him.”
A person who said these things doesn’t have venom for him? This is who you expected him to endorse instead?
“I rise today in support of these articles of impeachment,” he said on the House floor. “Not as a Democrat, not as a Republican, but as an American, who cares deeply about the Constitution, the rule of law, and the rights of the people.” The five-term congressman noted that the impeachment process should not be about “policy disagreements,” “ineffective governance,” or “criminality based on statutes that did not exist at the time our Constitution was written.” Instead, he said, it “is about maintaining the integrity of the office of the presidency and ensuring that executive power is directed toward proper ends in accordance with the law.”
“Conservatives will someday face the horrible truth that the Republican Party fought so hard to justify and excuse an amoral and self-serving president,” Amash tweeted last night, “and what he gave them in return was bigger government and erosion of the principles and values they once claimed to cherish.”
I believe in one form of term limits, and that is term limits on House and Senate positions on any national intelligence committees.
