They refuse to allow anybody but Japanese live in Japan. Last one to leave shut out the lights.

It is incorrect to say they do not allow but Japanese live in Japan.

I have several friends that have lived in Japan for years.

What is true is that Japan will not grant Citizenship to anyone who is not 100% Japanese by ancestry.

People that are or are decendents of Korean "comfort women" (women kidnapped in Korea and brought to Japan to be raped by Japanese soldiers can not gain Japanese citizenship even after being in Japan for 3 and 4 generations.

Japan might have to rethink those rules.

False . I could get Japanese citizenship if I wanted it and I am 100% American .

My wife is Japanese. I can apply to be a Japanese citizen, but I’d have to pass a test on their language and culture. Japan does it right!
