If I am being attacked by a bear, I don’t need a law giving me permission to dispatch it.
I’m sorry. But I oppose the right to arm bears.
Most people do not mean to feed the bears. They put out bird feeders to feed the birds. The bears learn that these feeders are in the back of the house. They can not pass up an easy meal. Especially when they come out of hibernation.
This is the same for whitetail deer. People feed them all winter. Not just hunters during the season to try and attract them(like me).
My mother in law feeds the deer right in her small suburban back yard.
The people down the road from me feed turkeys every day. Some days when I pass their house there are a dozen turkeys in their front yard by the feeder.
There is a lady about a mile away from me through the woods that also feeds the turkeys. She puts out multiple pounds of bird seed everyday. She must buy it by the pallet. She must go through a couple 50# bags a week. She is rich. Livings in one of the most expensive houses/estates around. There are days in the winter when there are a hundred turkeys hanging around her house. Everyone in the area calls it the turkey farm.
Most of the problems with wild animals result from humans feeding them either purposely or inadvertently. The problems start when that 300+ pound animal associates your home with food.
Bear?
Ok...I’ll stop complaining about the nuisance deer we have around here.
common sense, sheesh, this was law from 2012, what is wrong with these people.
