I agree. He pretty much just made straight line down his middle, so unless he's a Jehovah's Witness and believes Our Lord died on a "torture stake," he wasn't making a cross.
Biden, on the other hand, is clearly guilty of making light of what is the most sacred symbol of Christianity. Making the sign of the cross is actually a sacramental sign as it is a sign of faith using your body. Any "Catholic" that uses it in a frivolous manner might as well stomp on a rosary or deface a crucifix or icon.
