According to documents purporting to come from inside Disney, they have a regimented quota system for everything from producers to directors to writers to actors to film crews and even storylines. If that is true, they handcuffed themselves. There is nothing wrong with using “underrepresented” people per se, but when it becomes regimental and forced, they actually inhibit creativity in favor of appearance of “diversity”. People are not free to produce the best content or hire the best people for a specific project, they are forced to make compromises in various ways to fit the quota system. Meeting the quota becomes more important than the quality of the content, and knowing you have to meet the quotas you end up only being able to make content that meets the quotas; you end up creating content around the quotas because that’s the only way to get it made.
Complaining that the audiences are racist is a bit daft. The content quality obviously suffers, by design, because it is creatively inhibited and actually quite insincere, because it wasn’t developed from creative imagination but designed and created specifically to fit a quota, to check various boxes, instead of being created for maximum enjoyment by maximum numbers of people.
