Is it that power corrupts?
Or that power attracts the corruptible?
I am kind of thinking that you’re right.

Absolutely, for a real man/woman would want to put this nation back on a good course & have a legacy of merit, not corruption, or even be suspected of corruption.
And doing as much damage as they can beforehand.
Power attracts egomaniacs, narcissists, and sociopaths.
Dem judges have redrawn a district in Alabama that assures they pick up one there. I’ve recently read that a judge in Louisiana is playing the same game. They’ll pick up 2 seats just manipulating districts the courts.
Our courts almost always side with democrats. Dems have perfected judge shopping. If a federal trial is held in Washington DC, conservatives have no chance. Same for NYC.
And surrendering an office realizing that they will be kicked out by the voters for doing damage, I presume they are being very very well remunerated.
Why do we get the wrong leaders? Brian Klaas at Science and Cocktails
He’s not bad. CR Liberty score 85%
You can count on it.
He may be voting OK so far, but who knows what may be in his closet that could change his voting pattern if pushed. Democrats will use and abuse anyone with an (R) after their name if it will get them what they want.
They could also be trying to throw the House to the Dumbs, which in their mind is better than having a GOPee House dealing with a MAGA-GOP President.
Does anyone on this thread have an iq that rises above room temperature? This guy was a tea partner, has voted solidly conservative & isn’t an establishment type of guy. Is it just an addiction to making EVERYTHING somehow connected to President Trump? What is the point in that? It’s like given a choice between going after real lefty-communist jackasses or attacking your own people, a lot of yall prefer the circular firing squad! F***ing morons dude! 🙄
Is he solid for reelection or is he afraid he may lose? Could be solid but then there’s the heat to deal with. No time to back down.
Fair weather conservative?
Not likely. I’d say the guys voting record is pretty Conservative. I have to believe a lot of people get in to it not knowing exactly how crazy American politics has become. There’s various degrees of absolute insanity on the left, a center that doesn’t stand for much and tribalism on the right. Nobody allows for differences of opinion. Right now we are in a situation where 2 people who agree 90% of the time on most everything are view each other no different to how they view a leftist. It makes no sense. I actually see the disintegration right here on Free Republic. We used to be incredibly united. All of us taking part in the factionalism- the only people were damaging is ourselves. We should be focused like a laser on the left. Instead, we get dumbass posts like this one of people on our own side: is this a sign he was a deep stater? Um no, he’s a tea partier with a great voting record. Maybe he decided it wasn’t worth the hassle of trying to represent- not just conservative voters- but also a tribe that calls itself conservative, but is never willing to join the team & can’t be counted on to show up on election day! 🤔

From the article at the above link:
“Unusual Whales, a market analysis group, reported in January that Green was among a bipartisan group of members of Congress who beat the stock market to achieve large returns from trading. The report, which was based on financial disclosures, showed Green got returns of 122.2% over his 2023 stock trades. After the report’s release, Green issued a public statement saying he has no insight into how trades are made.”
