I think I loaded Brave on an iMac within days of its general release and have used it exclusively for several years now EXCEPT when there are some sites that just refuse to work with Brave (mostly dot gov and state tax and licensing sites) then I use Safari.

Haven’t used anything else really or needed anything else.

I posted the link at the top. It says Duck Duck Go Install. It’s in red.

We’re not talking about the search engine. The beta versions of a browser were released in 2022 for the Mac and in 2023 for Windows.

It’s not an article. It’s a X Twitter link. Do you know yegg personally? Are his posts trustworthy?

Of course not.

And read again what I posted: "I can't be responsible for the links in older articles."

The article was the FR thread. The link to Twitter that was in it is now dead, either pulled by the author or by Twitter.

I can't be responsible for the links in older FR articles.

The browser takes some getting used to, but very effective at blocking the worst of ads and junk when set up.

Their once-useful search engine now just returns pages of MSM and openly Leftist sites.

I like Brave as a browser and I never use Google as my search engine

DDG the search engine has been here 10+ years. DDG browser is much more recent.

Yes, very different critters, but some Freepers confuse the two.

The DDG browser for Windows was in beta until recently. Is it still in beta? I'd like to find a standalone full download but so far all I've found is a tiny installer. That makes me think it's still in beta.

DDG search engine got thrown off my computers when I discovered that it was hiding two thoroughly benign antique firearm parts sellers I need. Now running Brave on Win 10 and StartPage on XP-Pro.

One good feature is youtube. Go to youtube and click any video. When the video comes up, DDG will ask you how you want to view it; on youtube or DDG. Click DDG. DDG opens a new window to play the video - without ads and interruptions. This alone is a great feature.

Can you tell me the names of the antique firearm parts sellers? I'd like to do a search on different browsers to see which ones work best.

Anyone who thinks their browsing isn’t monitored is deluding themselves.

For some reason....I thought DDG had been bought by Bing, several years ago.

I might have that mixed up, with another search engine.
