I posted over the weekend that many of the “blue states” actually seem to be mainly red states with “blue big cities” whose left-leaning voting population overwhelm the rest of the state, propped up by a compliant leftist media (Chicago vs. Illinois, Portland vs. Oregon, for example. That’s where the real split might lie.
Another FReeper agreed, and suggested that a “balkanization” of the “big blue cities” might be the solution.
