So Trump who gave military assistance to Ukraine, told Europe not to be dependent on Russia for oil…., and told NATO to live up to their spending agreements and Putin wants this guy?
One could interpret end in 24 hours any ways.

Could also be that Trump could signal no more messing around, get out or we send everything. We will see

There is the campaign and then there is being in power and responsible

Remember it was zalinsky who allowed for the release of the transcript which blew shiftys version out of the water, they impeached anyways but hey that was political, 51% of the vote, pure optics. Senates not ever going to vote to remove.
A bit like xiden saying if they pass the vote he will shut down the border.

“Could also be that Trump could signal no more messing around, get out or we send everything.”

Reportedly, in Trump’s first meeting with Putin as President, Trump warned him against invading Ukraine, sayin that those beautiful golden domes in Moscow would be gone if he did. Reportedly, Putin was rattled by Trump’s confidence in saying that.

Weakness invites aggression, and that may have been just what Putin saw with Biden and Scholz.

By the time Trump is inaugurated, Russia will be on very thin ice militarily and economically - vulnerable to a hard deal. Trump knows the art of the deal, and can drive hard ones.

The Russian invasion to take Kyiv failed. Their attempt to use energy blackmail against Europe failed (spectacularly). Their attempt to blockade Ukrainian grain failed (they export more now than before the war). Their attempt to cripple Ukraine’s energy infrastructure failed.

If Russia had some silver bullet, they would have used it by now. Increasingly over time, all they have is more bodies to sacrifice. Average daily losses continue to climb for Russia, and seem likely to continue rising. The UK MoD estimated that the average daily casualty rate for Russia climbed about 300 higher (from~500 to ~800) over the course of 2023.

Russia will be in no position to take on a significant escalation next year, and Trump (and everyone else) will know it. Putin will have to take whatever he can get from Trump, to salvage whatever he can from the quagmire in which he is trapped.
