Words don’t bother me. It seems a weakness to give power to other’s words.

How rude of you to be so airily dismissive of an ethnic slur that Ancesthntr has just explained to you, and which you already admitted not having the personal experience to know the impact of.

Words do have meaning. Ethnic slurs are vicious and cowardly excuses for ignorance, or incitements to bullying, in group settings like a school, a neighborhood or a workplace.

It makes sense that a minority that is its own ethnicity (Semitic, not European) and that has always been targeted for hatred, and hence is usually eager to protect other minorities, would not want to be lumped in with what DEI considers the "oppressor" class—i.e. "white" people.
