‘Please guys, wake up’: European leaders push Biden, Congress on Ukraine

A group of European parliamentarians who are in Washington to drum up more support for Ukraine have a message for lawmakers and the White House: Get your act together.

The group is wrapping up a frustrating week spent meeting with policymakers and lawmakers, and is ready to leave town unsure of America’s place in European security after finding their U.S. counterparts unable, or unwilling, to act on important issues.

The parliamentarians spent the week “pleading with Americans to be Americans, to be engaged, to be focused, to be disciplined, and to work as closely as possible with us,” Ali Ehsassi, chair of the Canadian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, told reporters on Thursday.

The message from other lawmakers in the group from the U.K., France, Spain, Lithuania and the Czech Republic were the same. They’re fed up watching the Biden administration struggle with Congress to support Kyiv in beating back the Russian troops still occupying a large swath of Ukraine.

“It’s painful, but you have to spend 80 percent of your energy waking up Washington to be Washington,” said Žygimantas Pavilionis, chair of the Lithuanian parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.

They are terrified of a world without uncle sugar taking care of everything.

Compared to what the US has spent on Ukraine, how much has Europe anteed up?

If these ‘European Leaders’ would simply slow their Repopulation Program by a few months they’d be able to free up whatever funds they’re trying to get from us.

Naa, never mind. Come to think of it, their Repopulation Program is their TOP OBJECTIVE, no way they slow that down...just like the US, for that matter.

Hitler’s Wehrmacht and the might of German industry could not stop the Russians.

Funny, they can pay up just as well.
So they should stop being so stingy and heartless.
After all, they care SO much that they want someone ELSE to cover their costs.

Russia can convert the natural gas energy Europe once would have consumed (but now refuses to buy and use) into explosive force to use on Ukranian armed forces.

They get very upset when the gravy train dries up.

Just go to all the socialist countries you love so much and get THEIR money and support.

But that just won’t do, will it?

Europeans -- the Leftists mostly -- now lobbying DC for more money for the Ukraine adventure. Because Europe isn't able to pay? Won't pay? Won't pay as long as Uncle Sucker will?

European socialism -- including the "soft" socialist who pretend to be "centre-right" -- has been sustained by infusions of money and materiel from the US for decades. Without that, the European welfare states and their pro-migrant stance would not be able to continue fiscally.

These same European Leftists want to deprive European conservatives of their political parties because power is far too important to allow mere citizens to disagree with them.

Appealing to the ruling scum who bankrupted & destroyed our nation, allowing it to be invaded and conquered. A failed nation.

Trump's right. We'll have to withdraw from NATO. Then they'll have to pay for their own defense and deal with the Russians on their own.

Hitler’s Wehrmacht and the might of German industry could not stop the Russians.

And the US bombing campaign of German industry was relentless and devastating.

Agreed. The European Left wants both Uncle Sugar to pay the bills and do as they tell us to do. Sadly the American Left agrees with them. Vote Trump.
