Not defending this oily creep, but I recall during the last Administration the Dems made a big stink over Pres. Trump’s (or the Pentagon’s? I forget) statements about there being minimal casualties from attacks on our bases there. The basis for their fake outrage was that the loud noises and concussion effects from the incoming fire caused hearing loss and concussions, which they went out of their way to characterize as “traumatic brain injury”. Now I am in no way downplaying this but I do know that literally everyone (or at least everyone I know) who has been in a firefight or battle of any kind has sustained hearing loss and such. All that said, Kirby is terrible and our troops should not be there in the first place.

Echoing the sentiment as to why in the world are we there? However, my son was in Kurdistan during that time and their base endured a rocket attack from Iran. He told me that they were safe in bunkers, but that the NCOs told their soldiers to report any headaches, sleeping or vision problems in order to have documentation for a retirement with increased disability pay down the road.
