leave every hatch open

Russian tanks doe not have AC. Open hatch is the only way to ventilate heat.

lol agreed, but when running away and abandoning your tank ac is no longer an issue. Just have found it fascinating that they don’t care, or as some have suggested they want them destroyed…

Reminds me of the first tiger1 captured in north Africa. A shell splinter had jammed the turret and for whatever reason they did not try and retreat… they also did not destroy the tank, something they were taught to do. Maybe they were afraid of being prosecuted for destroying a valuable asset, perhaps they thought it could be recovered not sure, but there are plenty of examples of Germans destroying their own equipment to keep from being captured intact

It is a well known fact by now that a simple grenade tossed into one of their tanks or apvs will most likely result in total destruction, and we know the Ukranians are good at repurposing left on the battlefield equipment

As I understand the muskovites are still the single largest contributor to Ukrainian equipment fleet, precisely because of this interesting behavior .

The intel gained from this one event was important to the allies, they got a wake up call on German capabilities, likewise many valuable pieces of Russian equipment like EW, air defense, comm … have been captured intact as retreating muscovites did not destroy them in their haste.

One of the little discussed features of this war is what the west has learned about their technology and capabilities. Nk missiles being fired in Ukraine is something of an intel win as well. I am sure SK is very interested in that data
