The New York Times columnist David French has debased himself to become the Paul Krugman of the culture wars by being consistently on the wrong side of the argument.
French, the pompous NeverTrumper, lectured in his latest piece of propaganda that the “Actual Danger” of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – already embroiling universities and workplaces – wasn’t the ideology itself. Instead, he pointed to the “unconstitutional” way in which DEI was being “advanced” through speech codes and other restrictive measures.
But French still proceeded to ridiculously defend the concept. French led-off his Jan. 14 op-ed claiming that “[DEI] — like the related progressive concepts of wokeness and critical race theory — used to have an agreed-upon meaning but has now been essentially redefined on the populist right.”
Given that DEI is inherently nebulous, it’s unclear where French got the idea that there was some universally accepted definition out there. Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer tore into French’s argument in a Jan. 14 X post: “In what world did DEI ever have an ‘agreed-upon meaning?’ Are you kidding, @DavidAFrench?.”
In comments to MRC Business, Hammer ripped French further for genuflecting to his overlords at The Times by regurgitating leftist drivel. “David French continues to beclown himself, seemingly reaching yet another new low with every new column,” he said. “There is no lie too egregious for him to spout, if it gains him favor in the eyes of his liberal paymasters.”

And the NYSlimes still identifies French as a “conservative voice.” I think he’ still at NR too which is even more suspicious.
That's the very consequence of being a never Trump. You cannot be against Trump and be anything but being on the wrong side of argument most of the time because Trump is on the right side of the argument almost always.
I don’t know or remember many journalist names but I do know David French’s mainly from noticing his ridiculous opinions over and over again. Yeah. I kind of think he’s a shill.
They are all the same - an attempt to answer the question of why black people are the way they are without invoking nature.
I mean, the wokerati have been raised on the premise that undoing the social order that existed before, say, 1948 would lead to equality of outcomes. That's what they have been taught, their entire lives, and so have their parents and in many cases their grandparents.
They are therefore living in a state of cognitive dissonance and need a resolution.
The overwhelmingly preferred resolution - and not just among the woke - is that the state of black America is caused by something whites do, or something whites fail to do.
Lots of people here believe that as well.
DEI is systemic racism.
