“Zaluzhny vs. Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament)
The Verkhovna Rada does not adopt a new law on mobilization.
-Who should I fight with? Either turn to the world and ask people there, or go fight if you don’t provide. I need people, the Russians have already called up 400 thousand. Give me people, demands Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny
Zaluzhny is outraged by the complete lack of a mobilization reserve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now there is an acute shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The military has to appeal to the people or to the officials themselves.
He also spoke out against the mobilization of convicts:
— Is the army for bad people?
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' reserves are running out, mobilization has failed, and the Russian army is only intensifying its onslaught. So Zaluzhny became hysterical. To hold the front you need people and a lot of them. Urgently. Yesterday. But they are not there. And whether there will be a mobilization at all is a question.
It is now obvious that 500 thousand new mobilized Ukrainians is Zaluzhny’s demand, not Zelensky’s.
Deputies are delaying the adoption of a new law on mobilization - they are afraid of responsibility. In its current form, it contradicts the country's constitution. Previously, they would not have even paid attention to this, but now, when the situation at the front is getting worse, deputies are starting to think about the consequences."
It appears that neither Zelensky nor the Ukrainian Parliament want to take the political heat for providing that “meat”.
I guess it is not just DC elites who have given up on Ukraine winning this war.
Looks like Ukraine’s own elites are giving up.
Would the UKEs accept imprisoned convicts from other countries if those countries gave the convicts amnesty (? And forbade them from returnjng)
How many prisoners here in the US are serving lengthy or life terms, or on death row? Could we give all of them the option to move to Ukraine, pardoned, and begin by fighting this war there?
Which side do you expect them to fight for ?
You are the worst kind of slime, the kind of jerk that would herd the J6 political prisoners into the boats going overseas to fight the establishment's war for fun and profit.
I don’t think they would reliably fight for either or any side, just themselves. This is the irony of my over the top, ridiculous, straw man posting. Desperate people and nations, try desperate things. Doesn’t mean they will work. Unless the Ukes miraculously develop and deploy some magical super weapon, they are done. Demographics. Money. History all not on their side here.
What further desperate things might happen though, before the guns fall silent over there?
I think the movie ‘The Dirty Dozen’ and others, give folks a romanticized delusional idea of how effective using prisoners to fight wars really works out. I’ve seen postings suggesting that illegal aliens here kn the US should be deported to the front lines in Ukraine. Doesn’t mean I support it or think it would accomplish anything positive in the fight.
Jan 6 prisoners seem largely forgotten here, sadly. President Trump being re-elected is likely the only way their situation improves. Thanks for your opinion.
There were pro-Russia guys on TWTR who said all along that letting Wagner get so large was a mistake, and using prisoners was a mistake.
And I think they were proved right on both counts.
