The first time I saw television in the early 50s there were one minute of ads every 15 minutes. After my military time I noticed that it was one minute every 10 minutes.
Now, it is so ridiculously more ad time than program content that I refuse to watch many of the stations. The remote control is my friend. Ad time is wasted on me anyway. I am not going to buy anything simply because some so-called celebrity says that it is a good deal.
Amazon Prime just announced they were “enhancing” their service offerings by putting ads in all the movies.
Sounds like the Charlie Kirk show. So many commercials its unwatchable
Amazon prime no longer gets you commercial free TV, you have to pay a subscription monthly to get it commercial free.
Amazon is sales website is subdized by Amazon Web Services (AWS) giving them an unfair sales advantage where they take the profits from the Government contacts for hosting the NSA, CIA, State, etc., agencies for billions of dollars a year. The FTC has gone no where is spliting up the company so make it a fair playing field for other internet sales comapnies. Pays to be the low cost top solution web services provider to the USG.
My TV is unplugged. I don’t even waste my time with it anymore.
Or you could just watch the movies on the many free sites on the web.
They are paying way too much for content and leadership which gets passed on to users. Netflix has a co-CEO model....why pay 2x salary? Nextflix partners with Obamas, Susan Rice on BoD. Amazon delivers a bunch of in-house produced lemons. Disney piling on the losses with MCU using the dead horse strategies.
These platforms are about to experience the pain of customer churn due to price elasticity. Customers are simply rejecting their product for the reasons above.
Cable was the ultimate scam...
Create a channel that NOBODY watches... then charge the cable companies a few pennies per subscriber to carry it, and then also sell adds on it.
MAKE tens of Millions...
Literally could play nothing but old shows you would have found on UHF stations back in they day that cost next to nothing to broadcast, and rake in millions upon millions.
Hate to say it but Youtube TV gives you almost unlimited recording and skip over commercial capabilities.
If you watch live or VOD you have to watch commercials but if you start a recording, the come back in 30 minutes you can skip commercials.
Pluto tv has this one gay gay gay ad that has men kissing and hugging. I do not know what the product is but I know that Pluto tv execs like the money they are getting from it. It is on all sorts of channels like Gunsmoke, This Old House, Stargate, Star Trek, Sitcom, Classic tv etc.
