I frequently worked out with a guard who worked at a local prison. A man they’d just released killed an innocent bystander within hours of getting out. I asked the guard who told me everyone at the prison expected that to happen. The guards had been warned to never, under any circumstance, turn their back on him as they’d be killed. The guard told me the man had served his time and they had to let him go. Keeping people in prison costs about the same as sending them to Harvard.
