As a woman, I can tell you how many women, including judges, think -—”When I look at how this man was raised, the horrible things that happened to him as he was growing up, the terrible environment in which he suffered abuse and neglect, I cannot, with good conscience, place the blame for his actions solely on him. He is a product of all that he was exposed to growing up, and does not have the emotional tools to be able to respond to situations the same way a person with a normal upbringing would have. Therefore, I must have mercy on him.”
Not saying it’s right, just saying it happens.

Only a lad
You really can’t blame him
Only a lad
Society made him
Only a lad
He’s our responsibility
Oh, oh-woah-woah
Only a lad
He really couldn’t help it
Only a lad
He didn’t wanna do it
Only a lad
He’s underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused
Oh-oh-oh, oh-woah-woah-woah
Woah-woah-woah
Ohh, woah-woah-woah

I agree, the problem is it literally demonstrates what I just said, that is a lack of a morale compass and honestly actual lack of compassion. Such a decision allows a judge to feel like they are somehow showing mercy when in fact they are condemning innocent honest people to live in fear with such evil people.

The true compassionate choice is removing such individuals from society to protect those innocent people. Her decisions and others like her is a selfish act of emotional gratification at the expense of free honest citizens lives.
