It sort of felt like less volume this year. I know that both shippers are not hiring and are looking for people to leave. The departures from Memphis should easily tell the story.

One very odd thing I did notice this year. The usual bevy of 40 foot containers for extra merchandise at Walmart were missing. I went there the week before Christmas and the place was dead.

If I didn't know better I'd say people are running out of money but I know that can't be true since xiden says things are wonderful.

The FedEx planes fly right over my parents’ house. If the wind is coming from the south planes approach over Frazer and then over the Memphis medical district and midtown.

I have to say there were some planes this year but not nearly as many as in past years.

My oldest kid was supposed to start a job x-raying packages for security at the hub but they cancelled the offer at the last minute.

Large companies like UPS, FedEx, Honda, etc. seem to be positioning for a slowdown. They probably have, and I know FedEx has, very capable corporate intelligence.
