It’s especially clear in the blue states.

“Why aren’t there enough cashiers?”

“Because a hundred thousand people are fleeing this state every year, and the ones with a work ethic are not the ones masochistic enough to stay behind.”

The blue states provide enough benefits without working that young people "prefer" not to work. Often they live rent-free in their parents home and have been taught that it's "honorable" to be poor. I blame permissive parents who don't have the balls to say "No" to their kids and a failed educational system.

It used to be mostly kids working at fast food restaurants and grocery stores. What happened to them? I think they're too young to qualify for generous benefits.
