If we want to be pro-life, we should do it in our communities and advocate for that. But politically, we have to be pro-choice. It's what the American people want.
Otherwise, we'll become the next Whig Party.
Extinct.
What do you suggest?
I found that statement from Trump disappointing.
Democrats will avoid any issues that is of concern for the country they keep dragging out the old bag of abortion to talk about.
The become more useless by the day
“Among adults under age 30, 74% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, as do 62% of adults in their 30s and 40s. Among those in their 50s and early 60s, 55% express support for legal abortion, as do 54% of those ages 65 and older.”
I teach at the college level from time to time. This is 100% accurate and the demographics favor the young they are more numerous and are not dying off like the Boomers and older GenXers are. I’m a GenX and have already lost 10 friends to non-violent deaths. Only 3 were covid or post covid.
The youth are fired up men and women about having at least the choice up to around 15 weeks at least 70% demand this of both sexes. To go after birth control or plan B is even more political suicide. These youth are not going to listen to old white men telling them what they can and cannot do with their bodies the venom that induces is not shocking to those who regularly deal with 40 and unders. I have noticed this is largely an echo chamber not a whole lot of people seem to have meaningful and lasting interactions with the under 40s especially the urban youths. To ignore this huge demographic is why even red states like Utah or Kansas got slammed on this single issue. If it’s put on a ballot any ballot 15 weeks and under wins everytime it’s debatable past 20 weeks the support drops off but under 15 weeks is where the majority of the votes are. If they show up at the polls it will be 65%+ in favor everytime. The youth are not the same Americans as the older generations that cannot be repeated enough times they simply are not. The point is numbers matter when it’s at the polls in direct referendum.
