After January 6, 2021, United States Capitol Police opened 2 satellite offices outside of Washington D.C.. One of those offices was opened in former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s area and another was opened in Tampa, Florida.

I remember. The wife and I almost made the trip downa Capitol to participate.
In retrospect, prolly not a good idea (from a personal freedom perspective).
A lot easier to investigate and arrest people if you don’t have to travel all the way across the country.

At stupid as it is getting, even this statement of “almost” might be risky.
There have been anti Kavanaugh protestors, pro abortion protesters, anti war (pick one) protests, Palestinians supporters, anti trump, antifa protestors … that have infiltrated congress. Why are none of them locked up for years awaiting sham trials? Why is there such a one sided narrative and why are our so called republican representatives just rolling over on the people. The damn demonrats wanted to burn the whitehouse and PDJT got crap from media and his own DOD about his response. Don’t get me started on the BLM riots with no consequences.
I fear the only lessened learned is any conservatives that want to protest will be given 2 choices - don’t or do so with the understanding of the “cost”. So in for a penny in for a pound at this point.
The 2 sided justice system really only leads to one outcome and it’s not pretty. If the DOJ would like my data (sure they have it) but I can’t be the only one seeing the eventual outcome.

If you’re referring to the federal government, you are correct. But like any law enforcement organization at state level, and in this case territory level, they have no power outside of he items I mentioned when it concerns civilian law enforcement. And those mentioned powers came off their web site.
And due to the fact that DC is a federal territory, while they are somewhat equivalent to city police or metropolitan police, they are under federal jurisdiction due to the unique nature of being a federal territory. But they have no rights to work in a state independently as law enforcement even on their grounds. They still fall under state law and states’ rights.
