Thinking too hard makes your head hurt. A study shows that it causes chemical changes in the brain, which present behaviourally as fatigue.

Atlas shrugged:

“An enlightened citizenry should abandon the worship of logic and the outdated of reliance and reason. Just as a layman leave medicine to doctors and electronics to engineers, so people who are not qualified to think should leave all thinking to the experts and have faith in experts higher authority. Only experts are able to understand the discoveries of modern science, which have proved that thought is an illusion and that the mind is a myth” page 863

The loathsome and deserving of a painful death government depicted in that Ayn Rand book perfectly depicts our present situation. Sooner or later, we will have to do something about this. Hopefully, sooner. Much sooner.

Serious thinking does make your head hurt in a way.

I do math (mostly geometry and trig at the moment) in an effort to stay sharp. Doing math works like crossword puzzles but requires more thinking than just memory.

Here's the link to a fun math problem site for anyone interested...Premath.

The really difficult ones do cause a kind of brain pain. But it is those brain-pain problems that produce the greatest elation when finally solved.

I've always thought that this brain pain must be caused by forcing the mud in my brain to move around. It's a bit like stretching stiff muscles. It hurts initially but the pain goes away shortly...after my brain loosens up.

Oddly enough, “leaving thinking to others” seems to be the very basis of the idea of Republican Democracy.

Simply put, democracy only works at the very lowest level, a small group of people. Beyond a variable number, the group needs to choose “representatives of their interests” to think and figure out problems and their solutions. For the simple reason that everyone else has other things to do than mess with small details.

If government is operating properly, almost everything it does is deathly boring. However, people often become government employees to “creatively shake things (’the system’) up.” They are a burden and pestilence to the smooth functioning of government. And they don’t do the jobs they were hired to do.

A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellas with compassion and vision

We’ll be clean when their work is done
We’ll be eternally free, yes and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

Sorry to hear that. Hang in there.

I get bad brain fog after I eat and of course when I'm tired.
