She tried to peel off the bandaging a few times.

We know from experience that adding anything on top just further agitates her and makes her more determined to rip everything off.

Finally figured out that calling the advice nurse at hospice for guidance would be the smart thing to do (asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me).

She referred us to the comfort pack, suggested a minimal dose of Lorazepam and morphine. The Lorazepam for anxiety and agitation, and the morphine for any residual pain.

We gave her one pill, and throttled the morphine back from the original “minimum” 0.25 ml to about 0.06 ml as mom is ‘opiate naïve’, the nurse agreed.

She seems to be sleeping well every time we checked, reveille is a bit over an hour away, we’ll see...
