“Put a chick in it, and make her gay!”
I dunno, the Eartha Kitt version was pretty smokin’ too.
Christian Bale’s performance in the “Big Short” was superb!
A fine actor who has mastered his craft.
IMO, she was a distant third in the Catwoman world, can't even remember who played Catwoman in the 90's movie version.
(I know she bats for the other team and all, and she is a Lefty, but...the black tights look good...)
I didn’t read comic books, so I don’t have a dog in the movie hunt. I read real books with no pictures except on the cover. Call me a SF snob, I guess.
I did catch parts of some of the movies, though - always at a relative’s house who managed to get them free. They struck me as plotless messes carried along by CGI. I don’t think I missed anything.
I always liked the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
My favorite of his is American Psycho.
When I saw gweneth was in it I lost interest.
I fully understand. It was still good even with her in it.
I enjoyed some of the Batman movies. The Flash TV show was mildly diverting. At some point, I said “too much.”
I read comic books as a boy. My father told me “No more comic books. I want you to read a real book. You choose.” I may have chosen The Black Arrow by Robert Louis Stevenson. Whatever it was, it had a flashy cover. I became an avid reader.
I was shocked with the realization that the good side in one historical novel, was the bad side in another. That was an unintended but important lesson. In retrospect, I don’t know that there was much to recommend Louis the XI, but that does not mean that everyone who worked for him was bad.
N.C. Wyeth illustrated Jules Vern’s The Mysterious Island. I read anything by Vern and Wells, plus such modern science fiction authors such as Pohl, Kuttner, and Asimov, fantasy authors such as Tolkien.
Superhero movies were fairly rare at first and a bit of a novelty. The same with Science Fiction. I remember 2001 a Space Odyssey, the first Star Wars movie, and Star Trek. I’m enjoying Battlestar Galactica.
I don’t know if there is anything to recommend superhero movies today. Might as well watch season 100 of Survivor.
He is part of the group that gave us Biden. This man was *WRONG* about the most important issue facing this nation and therefore his advice or counsel should never be sought or heeded.
Yup.
“I’ve always hated these stupid comic book movies.”
the main problem is that if you’ve seen one of ‘em, you’ve seen ‘em all: CGIed everything all the time, one dimensional characters with zero character building, pathetic dialog, and interminable fight scene after fight scene that seem to go on for eons before the bad guy is finally killed ...
worse still is the fact that the ones made in the last few years are now so woked up that all of the above, as bad as it is, is pretty much just completely eliminated since being woke seems to the only point of the films ...
Is it too much to ask for the female superheroes to be attractive ? The one on the left looks like she should be knocking on doors of motel rooms exclaiming, “Housekeeping !”
The list of male superheroes being replaced by female superheroes due to no talent feminist/woke writers is now an MSHeU joke. Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Panther, the recenrtly cancelled Blade, Iron Man to Iron Heart, Loki, and Im sure I am missing a few.
Lee was lovely, but honestly her slight wall-eyes were a distraction for me. She was better as a serious actress, camp didn’t really suit her as well, though she was very good.
Totally agree.
I loved “Infinity War” and “Endgame,” thought “Captain Marvel” (who in the comics was a guy) was terrible and was sorry I bought into the “you need to watch this to understand ‘Endgame’”.
It’s clear whatever strategy Feige or whomever had following “Endgame” was either non-existent or horribly wokish. Trying to recast Hawkeye as a girl, Cap as the Falcon with a shield, and foist Captain Marvel on us as a lead was a joke.
I had liked “Ant-Man,” but “Quantamania” was a loser. Majors is NOT Josh Brolin and “Kang” in the MCU version was terrible. He never figured out if he was supposed to be evil or funny. Likewise, the new “Thor: Love and Thunder” was terrible, “Dr. Strange” was really Wanda, and I liked “WandaVision,” but not “Dr. Strange.” Never saw “Wakanda.” Watched only Loki season 1 ep. 1 and the last to try to figure out if “Secret Wars” was worth watching (it isn’). “Secret Wars” itself was horrible. Never even tried “Ms. Marvel” or “She-hulk.” “Falcon and Winter Soldier” was bad.
So all in all, the “phase 4” has been a total bust. Only “Guardians 3” was good, but even that didn’t have the same pop as either 1 or 2.
The MSheU is dead.
