I never watched Ms. Marvel, which is the only other place that other character has appeared. I know she’s a Muslim-American, which makes my lack of interest both sexist and Islamophobic.
And I barely even remember Captain Marvel, other than wishing I’d been watching the DC Comics version instead.
So, this is all my fault...
You might think $47 million is a lot, but not when the movie cost five times that much to make and market.
Sorry, everybody. It’s my fault this movie is bombing. It’s my fault the “female Loki” on the Loki show is boring and no fun. It’s my fault She-Hulk was a cringey, convoluted mess. It’s my fault Black Widow bit the big one. It’s my fault that the more Marvel tries to appease feminists, the more money they lose.:
A turd being flushed down the toilet, is worth more than any modern Disney movie.
Don’t make girls “superheros”.
Girls are supposed to swoon over super heros, but they don’t make girls the way they used to I guess.
Iron Man was the one and only comic book movie that I have ever liked. Iron Man II was lame. I tried a couple of the movies with 15 superheroes in them, but couldn’t get past the ten minute mark. Lame.
They also make great villains, Thor had the Enchantress, The Black Widow started out as a villain, as did Hawkeye, and Madame Hydra. Ms Marvel grew as a character, and just became known as Jean Grey. Mystique was a great Villain. The problem has been that they just stopped using the great stories that were the comic bucks. Comics were storyboards and your brain filled in the action. Now some idiot thinks he’s a better writer than the collaborations of Kirby, Steranko, and Lee. Good luck with that. And they really screwed up Nick Fury.
Behind a pay-wall huh?
Thanks for... Not much.
I’ve always hated these stupid comic book movies. I assume young children are the fanbase for these.
You know what they say about the word “assume.”
“they don’t make girls the way they used to I guess.”
Now they have penises.
The original superhero was a male alien named Mar-Vell who posed undercover on Earth as a human scientist.
I liked the first Iron Man because they let Robert Downey Jr. be Robert Downey Jr.
He WAS the movie.
Va va boom. :)
Iron Man was funny and Downey had star quality. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool was similar, though a little less fresh. In the rest of the movies, neither the characters nor the performers were very interesting. Thinking that making them women or ethnic or gay would make them interesting was a mistake.
There was a lot of excitement in the 70s and 80s about seeing comic book characters brought to the big screen. Once they were on the big screen there’s no way that kind of excitement could be sustained. Why care when the next superhero, who’s not that different from the other superheroes, comes out with a movie?
All the CGI doesn’t differentiate the pictures. It just makes them look more and more alike.
“Iron Man was the one and only comic book movie that I have ever liked”
You should try the Christian Bale Batman movies.
Superb.
I liked those too. I just forgot they were comic book movies.
I remember that I was a teenager and impressionable the first time I saw Linda Carter as Wonder Woman. Wow, she really filled out that costume. A lot of my friends in school had a serious crush on her. She was a real super hero for all the boys.
She is a Marvel*
With an asterick...its on her chest...
I hate them too.
