What do you mean, be should have known better? He was elected President and had to try to get some control over the millions of people that “work for” the government starting at the top. They all were protecting themselves from Wray on down. Sessions, Pence, there’s no way Trump could have known that he was going to be stabbed in the back by so many people. He might well have known better but there was only so much he could do. Obviously he missed some opportunities early on before the election steal got started but what could he have done differently without being able to predict the future?
