Since 1788, France has had 15 different constitutions and the US has had one. It sounds like France needs a new constitution.

This is the 1958 Constitution adopted to lure Charles De Gaulle out of retirement.

De Gaulle wanted a strong Presidency that he would occupy.

In France the President has more power than the US President because of that 1958 Constitution.
