I think veteran moms and dads see the rot in our federal government and a stolen presidential election and are telling their kids that the military is no longer a good career option.
The whole point was to force through mail in voting. Most countries only allow it in special exceptions because it is too easy to cheat. Cheat they did and the Manchurian Candidate, Joe Biden , got selected for us.
Obama cleaned out all the good military leaders and he and Biden installed LGBT and woke folks. 1/3 of our military are obese. Even police are obese. How can they even give chase anymore. What happened to requirement to be physically fit for duty. Gone baby gone. On purpose.

The military is in its worst shape since at least the 1930s when MacArthur threatened FDR with resignation due to the poor shape of the U.S. Army. God help us if we get into a multifront war.
