We had TWO Volvos back in the early 80s, a sedan and a station wagon. You’d think a sensible person would NOT buy #2 Volvo. Ever.
We were driving BRAND NEW #1 off the dealer lot and the little gutter dip going onto the road was enough to make the gear shift knob go “BOING” and explode into parts bouncing off the roof. We never got off the lot — turned around and put it right into the service bay. We’d driven it maybe 100 feet. It was all downhill from there.
I have to admit, those turbocharged cars had outstanding handling, acceleration and braking...when they weren’t in the shop.
