I remember in the sixties my friends who used pot daily just became stupid. Their vocabulary was reduced to two phrases; wow and far out. A couple of my peers went onto full blown psychosis and schizophrenia. They were admitted to the mental hospital and released as Thorazine zombies. I can’t imagine using it now with the normal cognitive decline of aging.
THC levels for weed in the 1960s/1970s was fairly low. You had to smoke an awful lot to get stupid.
Around 1990s....higher level of THC weed started to come out. Today...three and four times the old THC level. A lot more paranoid schizophrenia being triggered today.
I saw this with a friend in the 70s became dumb as a stump and lacked any initiative & motivation a complete change from the person he was.
Bfl...
This in the inevitable result of frequent marijuana use.
As I say, cannabis is stored in the liver and other tissues and is time-released. The time-release can last for months.
I have seen highly intelligent people behave like morons because of chronic cannabis intoxication, doing stupid things, sometimes violent things, because their judgment is impaired.
When they then abstain from marijuana--either voluntarily or under compulsory institutionalization--the reappearance of clarity is crystal clear and can be astonishing.
“I can’t imagine using it now with the normal cognitive decline of aging.”
Throw in some fentanyl-lacing...and you may very well have a death sentence.
“I remember in the sixties my friends who used pot daily just became stupid. Their vocabulary was reduced to two phrases; wow and far out.”
Surely, they must also have used “pot” and “weed”.
I read this morning, that Boston College and Tufts University are instituting alcohol- and Marijuana-free housing.
It took six decades to learn that SMOKING is dangerous to one’s health. It appears that youngsters are learning much faster about Marijuana.
