Yes. The slaves however all chose to stay at the plantation. Washington would pray on his knees before every battle. Washington had a little book he called “Daily Sacrifice” where he would write his own prayers. Some are quite beautiful. Such as: “Thou gavest thy Son to die for me,and has given me assurance of salvation,Upon my repentance and sincerely endeavoring to conform my life to his Holy precepts and example.” Washington was a devout Christian.
