There were 16 charges, Paxton was acquitted on all of them. Some of them even democrats voted against.

Atty Buzbee said it shouldn’t have been necessary for Paxton to prove his innocence but that is what they had to do.
Another case brought by ignoring the American Constitution for innocent till proven guilty. The TX House did not even allow Paxton to respond to their accusations. All over our country the Justice Dept is ignoring the Constitution.

A strong, well-written summary. With your permission, I’ll quote it elsewhere.

Why is Paxton a threat to Abbott?

Too harsh. The WSJ is not Human Events, but they are not for QE. Their reporting is generally reliable and the editorial stance is business conservative, with some exceptions. As with much of the Murdoch empire, the WSJ routinely takes the most shots at Biden, then Trump, while casting longing glances toward Ron DeSantis.

And furthermore, this was done during a time which our southern border was being massively infiltrated by who knows who. Smells more like a concerted effort to neutralize Paxton from interfering in any ongoing ops this past summer. After all, he was relieved from his duties for 3 months.

The upside is we now know the identity of many more of the enemy than before. Question is: What event(s) transpired over the summer while most of US were distracted and riled up over Paxton’s persecution?
